@Toby At first, I didn’t understand why the fight scenes in Iron Fist didn’t work for me. I knew the actors couldn’t pull it off but something else seemed wrong with the editing, angles and picture sections. You’re critical evaluation (little rant) helped me understand the problem, Toby: The cuts are too frequent and there are too many close ups.
I didn’t understand your critcism about Colleen’s cultural background though. She spoke Mandarin as a child but later grew up with her grandfather and was trained by Bakuto. It makes sense to me that she has chinese roots but has grown more accustomed to japanese culture due to her upbringing and training.
And I can understand that you’re mad about shitty accents, even though I’m from Germany and have problems understanding the Nazis in Raiders of the lost Arc as well as Timothy Dalton’s german commands in the Rocketeer etc.: This is a problem of many big Hollywood productions, who should definitely have the money to put some native speakers on set.
